  • МЕД – домаќин на три теренски обуки за партнерски организации од Албанија, Косово и Хрватска

    Претставници од невладината организација за заштита на животната средина во Албанија PPNEA, од Американскиот Универзитет од Косово AUK, како и од Факултетот за Ветеринарна медицина од Загреб изминативе два месеци беа дел од обуките наменети за правилно спроведување анкети со локално население коишто МЕД ги организираше во Македонија.

    Обуките се дел од активностите на проектот „Улогата на природните ресурси во одржливото рурално живеење во Западен Балкан. Распределба и состојба на недостатоците и придобивките“ којшто Македонското еколошко друштво заедно со Норвешкиот Институт за истражување на природа (NINA), како и со горенаведените партнерски организации започна да го спроведува оваа година.

    Тимовите од Албанија и Косово учествуваа во теренските истражувања во селата Калиште, Ломница и Шипковица, кадешто директно спроведуваа анкети со локално население, додека тимот од Хрватска беше дел од теренските истражувања во селото Велебрдо во Националниот Парк Маврово. Посетителите од овие земји, веднаш по теренските обуки отпочнаа со спроведување на анкети и во своите држави.

    До крајот на октомври се очекува да заврши првата фаза на теренските истражувања предвидени за оваа година. До тогаш ќе бидат собрани вкупно 1.000 анкети во дел од планинските села во Западен Балкан, од кои 300 анкети само во Македонија. Анкетите во земјава се спроведуваат во 10 села во Мавровскиот и Шарпланинскиот регион.

    Анкетите треба да покажат колку всушност локалното населението се занимава со лов, риболов, собирање на лековити растенија, чаеви, печурки, како и собирање и сечење на дрва за огрев. Анализата на податоците пак треба да покаже дали  населението има некаква економска корист од користењето на природните ресурси како и дали тие се користат на одржлив начин.

  • Завршна презентација на проектот за развој на национална еколошка мрежа во Република Македонија (МАК-НЕН)

    Македонското еколошко друштво во соработка со Министерството за животна средина и просторно планирање и Европскиот центар за заштита на природата од Холандија организира завршна презентација на проектот за развој на национална еколошка мрежа во Република Македонија (МАК-НЕН). Настанот ќе се одржи на 22 јуни 2011 год. (среда) во ресторанот Ореов Лад, Скопје. На настанот се поканети голем број претставници од сите засегнати страни: министерства, јавни претпријатија, научни установи, субјекти за управување со заштитените подрачја, невладини организации итн. со кои ќе ги споделиме нашите досегашни достигнувања во рамките на МАК-НЕН проектот и ќе продискутираме за идните предизвици за спроведување на националната еколошка мрежа.

  • Одбележување на Меѓународниот ден на биолошката разновидност

    2010  is the international year of biodiversity.

    The Pan-European Biodiversity picnic this year in Macedonia is organized by the Macedonian Ecological Society MES, UNDP, the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, and through the network of organizations for biodiversity conservation in the countries from Central and South Europe (CEEweb), www.ceeweb.org

    The chain of presentations about the biodiversity values and fulfilling the obligations for EU membership, as well as the traditional picnic will take place on 5th June 2010, in the hotel Slavija at Popova Shapka.

    The pan – European Biodiversity Picnic is a campaign for raising public awareness for the biodiversity in which there are several parties included. This campaign is supported by the United Nations Environment Protection (UNEP) – the regional Office for Europe and all the countries participants and users. Similar events as part of this Pan-European champagne were organized in 2008 and 2009 in Azerbaijan, Luxemburg, Germany, Moldova, Estonia, Romania, Serbia, Lithuania and Macedonia.

    The idea for the Pan-European Biodiversity Picnic came from the discussion at the round table of the Users of Biodiversity, organized by mutual efforts through the Pan-European strategy for biological and regional diversity and the European ECO Forum of the Belgrade conference which took place in October 2007.

    The Pan-European Biodiversity Picnic is aiming at:

    –          Raising political and public awareness for biodiversity by organizing different events on a national level for the International Biodiversity Day

    –          Enlarging the knowledge about benefits of biodiversity for human wellbeing

    –          Attracting different users and affected parties to nature conservation

    –          Raising the values and meaning of biodiversity in the global politics by promoting the Pan-European initiative by including more interested parties in the framework of the international events and the media.2010 година е прогласена за Меѓународна година на биолошката разновидност.

    “Пан-Европскиот пикник за биолошка разновидност” оваа година во Македонија се организира од страна на Македонското еколошко друштво (МЕД), UNDP и Министерството за животна средина и просторно планирање, а преку мрежата на организации за зачувување на биолошката разновидност во земјите од Централна и Источна Европа – (CEEweb), www.ceeweb.org

    Низата презентации на тема вредностите на биолошката разновидност и исполнување на обврските за членство во Европската унија, како и традиционалниот пикник ќе се одржат на о5 јуни 2010 година, во хотел Славија на Попова Шапка.

    “Пан-Европскиот пикник за биолошка разновидност” е кампања за подигнување на јавната свест за зачувување на биолошката разновидност во која се вклучени повеќе засегнати страни. Истата е поддржана од  Програмата на Обединетите Нации за Заштита на Животната Средина (UNEP) – Регионалната Канцеларија за Европа и од сите земји учеснички и корисници. Слични вакви настани во рамките на оваа Пан-Европска кампања беа организирани во текот на 2008 и 2009 година во Азербејџан, Луксембург, Германија, Молдавија, Естонија, Романија, Србија, Литванија и Македонија.

    Идејата за организирање на “Пан-Европскиот пикник за биолошка разновидност” произлезе од дискусијата на тркалезната маса на Корисниците на биолошката разновидност организирана со здружени напори преку пан–Европската стратегија за биолошка и пределска разновидност  и Европскиот ЕКО Форум на белградската конференција која се одржа во октомври 2007 година.

    “Пан-Европскиот пикник за биолошка разновидност” има за цел:

    – Да го подигне нивото на политичката и јавната свест за биолошката разновидност преку организирање различни настани на национално ниво за Меѓународниот ден на биолошката разновидност;

    – Да го продлабочи познавањето за придобивките на биолошката разновидност за благосостојбата на човештвото;

    – Да привлече различни корисници и засегнати страни за зачувување на природата;

    – Да го подигне значењето на биолошката разновидност во глобалните политики преку промовирање на Пан-Европската иницијатива со вклучување на повеќе заинтересирани страни во рамките на меѓународните настани и во медиумите.

  • Резултати од одбележувањето на Светските денови на птиците преселници во Македонија

     

    Одбележувањето на деновите на птиците преселници на 8 – 9 мај во дворот на градска библиотека Браќа Миладиновци наиде на значаен интерес од случајните минувачи и од директните учесници кои дадоа придонес кон оваа прослава. Меѓу посетителите најбројни беа децата кои земаа директно учество во креативните работилници по свој избор. Генерално најголем интерес покажаа за решавање на квизот на тема “Миграција – што е тоа?” и изработка на цртежи. Сите директни учесници добија пофалница за покажаната креативност, меѓутоа специјално одбрана комисија од МЕД ги издвои најточно решените квизови, најкреативните цртежи и најдобрите решенија за оригами и добитниците соодветно ги награди.

     

  • Успешна промоција на двата документарни филмови за природните вредности на Македонија!

    The documentaries In the Heart of the Balkans – In Search of the Lynx and In the Heart of the Balkans – The Pelicans of Prespa, about the natural treasures of the NP Mavrovo and the Prespa Park were presented at Cinematheque of Macedonia on 5th and 6th April 2012.

    The launch of the documentaries was officially opened by the director and screen writer of the movies, Kornelia Folk from Germany. In her speech, Folk said the movies reflect only a small part of the treasures which Macedonia offers.

    Besides the great number of partners of MES and UNDP, representatives from the state institutions, the embassies in the country, NHOs, the German organizations in Macedonia, students from the Faculty for Natural Sciences as well as other nature and art lovers were part of the audience as well.

    На 5ти и 6ти април 2012 година, во просториите на Кинотека на Македонија и на Институтот за биологија, ПМФ-Скопје, беа прикажани филмовите за природните вредности на Националниот парк „Маврово“ и за Преспа Паркот, „Во срцето на Балканот – Барајќи го рисот“ и „Во срцето на Балканот – Пеликаните од Преспа Парк“.

    Промоцијата на филмовите ја отвори авторката и режисерка на филмовите, Корнелија Фолк од Германија. Таа во нејзиното обраќање до публиката рече дека филмовите отсликуваат само мал дел од вистинското богатство што го нуди Македонија.

    Покрај големиот број на соработници на МЕД и УНДП, филмовите ги гледаа и претставници на државните институции, амбасадите во земјава, невладините организации, германските oрганизации во земјава, студентите од ПМФ како и други љубители на природата и уметноста.

     

  • Проценка на заканите за птици во две значајни подрачја за птици во Македонија

    Проценка на заканите за птици во две значајни подрачја за птици во Македонија

    Како дел од проектот „Проценка на заканите за птици во две значајни подрачја за птици во Македонија“ во месец март се одржаа 3 предавања во основните училишта од Овче Поле (с. Горобинци, с. Лозово и с. Ерџелија) со цел најмладите од регионот да се запознаат со биологијата и екологијата на белоноктата ветрушка (Falco naumanni) и потребата да се постават куќички за овој вид. На предавањата, учениците учествуваа во склопување и обележување на куќичките. Исто така, дел од куќичките беа склопени со студентите од Здружението на студенти на Шумарски факултет – ДРЕН.

    На 6 различни локации се поставија 69 куќички, за кои се надеваме дека ќе послужат за својата цел – нови гнезда за белоноктата ветрушка.

    Паралелно со поставувањето на куќичките се изврши и проценка на гнездечката состојба на царскиот орел во Овче Поле при што крајниот исход е 14 гнездечки локации – од нив 12 се стари локации, едно е ново гнездо и една променета гнездечка локација. Еден негативен резултат забележан на терен беа две мртви млади птици од царскиот орел, од кои едната е жртва на електрокуцијa.

  • РАБОТЕН СОСТАНОК ЗА ДЕФИНИРАЊЕ НА УПРАВУВАЧКО ТЕЛО ЗА ПРЕДЛОГ ЗАШТИТЕНОТО ПОДРАЧЈЕ НА ОСОГОВО

    Во рамките на проектот „Осоговските Планини во Балканскиот зелен појас“  организирана беше работна средба на ден 23ти март 2012 год. во салата на Домот на културата во општина Пробиштип.

    Целта на состанокот беше заедничко дефинирање на управувачки модел за предлог заштитеното подрачје – Осогово заедно со сите засегнати страни вклучени во Координативно тело за управување со процесот за прогласување на заштитено подрачје/а на Осоговските Планини. Презентирани беа различни примери/типови на управување во V категорија – Заштитен предел (најсоодветната категорија за заштита за Осогово) од страна на стручните лица од Природен Парк „Витоша“ – Бугарија, исто така даден беше преглед на начинот на управување во биосферните резервати како соодветна форма на управување за Осогово.

    Во тек на дискусијата беа разгледани неколку модели и беа дадени насоки за Управувачко тело за Осогово. Шумарскиот сектор и локалните самоуправи како најзасегнати во однос на управувањето заеднички дадоа конкретни насоки и препораки за дефинирање на телото за Осогово. Во наредниот период моделот за управување, кој понатаму треба да послужи за изработка на финансиска импликација за управувачко тело, ќе биде детално разработен од страна на стручните лица и повторно заеднички  ќе биде разгледан и усвоен  со сите клучни страни.

  • German Documentary “In the Heart of the Balkans – In Search of the Lynx” To Be Premiered in April in the Cinematheque of Macedonia

    The German documentaries “In the Heart of the Balkans – In Search of the Lynx” and “In the Heart of the Balkans – The Pelicans of the Prespa Park,” last year were shown for the first time on the European television Arte, are finally available to the Macedonia audience.

    Both movies were translated into Macedonian and are going to be presented on 5 and 6 April in the Cinematheque of Macedonia. There will be three projections, the first day at 13:20, and the second day at 20:00.

    The screenwriter and director of the documentaries, Kornelia Folk, will be at the launch of her works.

    MES, in collaboration with EuroNatur, NGO from Germany, and the Mavrovo National Park, participated in the making of the documentary “In the Heart of the Balkans – In Search of the Lynx,” regarding the natural resources of Mavrovo National Park, where Marko, the first lynx with a GPS collar, was recorded and was the first lynx to be monitored by the MES team for almost a year and a half in the Mavrovo National Park.

    The launch of the German documentaries in Skopje is organised by MES and UNDP.

  • MES Places a GPS Collar on a Balkan Lynx for the Second Time

    MES captured a Balkan lynx on 5 March on Stogovo Mountain. After the GPS collar was mounted, the lynx was released back in the wild. The capture was conducted within the project Status, ecology and land tenure system of the critically endangered Balkan lynx Lynx lynx martinoi in Macedonia and Albania, which is financially supported by the Swiss Natural Science Foundation (SNSF) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

    The animal was captured using a box trap deployed on the territory of Hunting Society Dushegubica, which is managed by PE “Macedonian Forests”, the sector Lopushnik-Kichevo, in oak forest with steep ground. The Balkan lynx protection team established a very fruitful collaboration with this hunting society, by means of which the lynx is monitored.

    After being captured, the lynx was sedated, and while under sedation, the animal was thoroughly examined and measured, blood and hair samples were taken for genetic analysis and a GPS collar was placed on it. The lynx is a male, healthy individual, probably two or three years old, 98 cm long and weighing 17 kg.

    The MES team decided to name the lynx Riste. Thanks to the GPS technology, Riste is already sending data about its movement. This data is of exceptional scientific importance in the process to obtain knowledge about the ecology and biology of the Balkan lynx. By comparison of data we will be able to see whether Marko, the lynx captured in 2010, and Riste are neighbours, that is, whether their home range overlaps.

    This is the second lynx in Macedonia we have placed a GPS collar on. The MES team comprising Dime Melovski, Aleksandar Stojanov, Gjorgje Ivanov and Vasko Avukatov has already been working for six years on the protection of the Balkan lynx within the Balkan Lynx Recovery Programme. The first lynx they put a GPS collar to was captured in a box trap in March 2010 in the Mavrovo National Park. The session for capturing Balkan lynx individuals is going to continue this year as well, and the team hopes that new individuals of the critically endangered Balkan lynx will be captured.

     

  • Results from the Call for Project Proposals for Local Sustainable Development of the region of the Mountains Ilinska and Plakenska

    Thirty-eight draft projects for the open call for submitting of project concepts/projects for small grants of the region of the mountains Ilinska and Plakenska were received by 30 December 2011. They were delivered to the members of the committee. All the submitted draft projects were evaluated according to the following criteria: the quality of the draft project, its viability, its sustainability, its influence on the environment and estimation of the financial plan. The committee gladly concluded that most of the draft projects are of high quality and completely meet the application criteria.

    The committee for evaluation of the submitted project proposals, comprising representatives from EuroNatur – Germany and MES, met on 3 February 2010 and reached a decision to finance the draft projects which were submitted after the call for submitting of draft projects concerning the local sustainable development of the regions of the mountains Ilinska and Plakenska. The committee ranked all of the 38 submitted projects, but due to the limited funds, it had to choose only 7 of them. The chart with the approved and unapproved project proposals can be found below in the text.

    MES congratulated all the groups which were awarded a financial aid for their success and the well-produced project, wishing them success in fulfilling it!

    MES encourages the rest to submit their projects to other financing foundation of in the possible second call by MES in future (there are no more financial funds at the moment). MES sincerely offers you its capacities at your service for completion and implementation of the project and the rest of your activities. We hope that in future as well you will be part of the whole process for nature protection and improving living conditions for the people living in the abovementioned areas.
