We are making efforts to improve the natural values of the Prespa region, its biodiversity and population, with the help of mutual international activities!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

A contract was signed on 29th<\/sup> March 2013 for an international collaboration between three NGOs from the three neighboring countries that share the Prespa Lake. Emphasizing that the collaboration of the civil society is the basis for the integrated managing of the basin of the Prespa lakes, the representatives of the NGOs for environmental conservation, Macedonian Ecological Society (MES), the Association for Protection and Preservation of Natural Environment in Albania (PPNEA) and the Society for the Protection of Prespa (SPP) met in the Greek village Lemos and set the basis for the future network for environment protection in the region called Prespa net. <\/span><\/p>\n

After outlining the aims, directions and the main focus of the network and the possible mutual activities which are to be performed in the future, the contract was signed and the event confirmed the long-lasting mutual international collaboration in Prespa.<\/span><\/p>\n

Having in mind the previous activities and projects carried out in the region, it is obvious that the lesson has been learned that the partial and isolated approach, instead of the thorough and international approach is less effective and sometimes even inefficient. Aiming at this, Prespa Net will be actively working on issues with the help of mutual activities, strengthened collaboration among the stakeholder groups managing the basin of the Prespa Lakes, the improved flow of information and the sustainable development. All these questions influence the region by pointing out the need for appropriate actions essential for the region.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the framework of the newly formed network, these three organizations made the next step and dedicated themselves to conservation of the unique natural and cultural inheritance of the Prespa region, simultaneously promoting its socio-economic development.
