Places and People” by involving Macedonian citizens as volunteers for nature protection; taking actions that would contribute to the implementation of EU regulations especially in the process of \nThis project is an ambitious initiative to protect wild plants in countries of Southeastern Europe, focusing on the Mediterranean region. \nDuring the project, all partners will take action to protect plants within 20 Important Plant Areas (IPAs) in six countries (Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon, Montenegro, Turkey and Macedonia) that involve a number of interested citizens, associations, research institutions and others.<\/p>\n
\nOn this occasion, on 25 and 26 November in Skopje an introductory workshop was held, attended by representatives of organizations, institutions and volunteers of selected important plant areas. “Art Point Gumno” from Sloeshtica (IPA Ilinska Mountain), “Action Plus” from Resen (IPA Prespa Lake), “Polimat 13” from Bogdanci (IPA Bogdantci) and “Renatura” from Dojran (IPA “Dojran”) are organizations involved in this project. Additionally, we received full support from several institutions, like primary and high schools in Demir Hisar (“Brakja Miladinovci and “Krste P. Misirkov “), the municipality of Resen and volunteers from selected areas.
\nIn the next 13 months these organizations and institutions will be involved in activities aimed at popularizing and promoting the important plant areas in which they operate. Some monitoring activities of certain plant species, significant both nationally and internationally will be also implemented.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
