This is a second meeting on the same topic \u2013development of prospects for the proposed transboundary area \u201cSharr\/\u0160ar Planina &#8211; Korab &#8211; De\u0161at\/Deshat\u201d as a follow-up of the first trilateral stakeholder meeting held in Popova Shapka in November 2011.<\/p>\n<p>According to the feasibility study published in 2010 by UNEP the proposed transboundary protected area (TBPA) \u201cSharr\/\u0160ar Planina &#8211; Korab &#8211; De\u0161at\/Deshat\u201d jointly identified by the representatives of the Governments in 2006 as one of the most important biodiversity hotspots in the region has the potential to become the largest protected area in SEE and one of the largest in Europe. Such desired development would mean a spectacular success for biodiversity conservation at the regional and European levels.<\/p>\n<p>The main aim of this meeting is to bring the environmental ministers together and a wide range of stakeholders from the region of the proposed transboundary protected area; catalyze local partnerships; facilitate transboundary working contacts; review the jointly developed vision for the transboundary protected area \u201cSharr\/\u0160ar Planina \u2013 Korab\u201d and identify funding opportunities for future local transboundary projects.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning of the Republic of Macedonia in cooperation with the Macedonian Ecological Society, UNEP (Vienna Office) and EuroNatur \u2013
